A Dallas native, Walter moved to Los Angeles in early 2004 to grab a hold of his place in the City of Dreams. He initially made a name for himself as an offline editor working on commercials for EA Sports, Ford/American Idol, Chevrolet, Snickers, and Domino’s Pizza. He then started to explore his director’s hat by working with new major label and indie acts such as Katy Perry, The Jonas Brothers, Mickey Avalon, Drake Bell, Andy Davis and The Daylights.
In the summer of 2010, Walter transitioned back to the advertising world by taking a hybrid Director, Editor, Writer position at Los Angeles based advertising agency 72andSunny. Since being there, he has worked with such clients as Activision, Blackberry, K-Swiss, 2KSports, Sonos, and Carl’s Jr. He has directed such celebrity talent as Kobe Bryant, Serena Williams, Mark Cuban, Jillian Michaels, and Michael Bay.
In November of 2010, Walter launched a viral video for his girlfriend entitled “I Hope This Gets To You” which received over 1.3 million hits within 2 days. The song, which he co-wrote with the Daylights, reached Top 20 in both the iTunes Rock and XM Radio charts. The video won a 2011 Cannes “Cyber Lion Finalist” award as well as 2011 ThinkLA “Best Use of Social Media” award.
No matter what the next challenge may be – directing, editing, writing, or his next haircut- Walter approaches it with high energy and his own sense of style.
